#6705 3.10x7 NW Persian rug, hand knotted wool, Iran, ca.1920's, very primitive design that we normally associate with Kazak rugs, light navy, green, camel, and rust-red, signed and dated inside one of the two mihrabs with an unbelievably early date $985.00

The rug is dated 1300, which is about 1802 in our calendar. Even though the rug is misshapen, it is still attractive.

It is interesting as a study piece, since it must have been copied from an earlier rug right down to the date woven

into the earlier rug. This is an example of why dates woven into a rug may not always be correct.
