#10122 7.5" x 4.5" Pit River Basket, (Achomawi Indians), a mush bowl or cooking basket, Northeast California, ca. early 20thC, a type of twining that is unique to this area called "Full Twist Overlay", the technique sets these baskets apart from their neighbors who use a half twist technique, the full twist overlay allows the design to be seen both inside and outside the basket, age has given the bear grass a golden patina, some stains on the interior of the bottom from use, otherwise, very good condition $850.00
