| #33-09 | 3.6x5.4 | Yagcibedir prayer rug, hand knotted wool, Western Turkey, c.1920's, midnight blue, ivory, apricot-red, and black, near mint condition with one small crease wear, slight black oxidation, kelim and decorative braided end finishes intact, Turkmen weaving in Western Anatolia | $1400.00 |

Yagcibedir rugs are reportedly woven by Turkmen nomads that settled in Western Anatolia.
The somber colors, goat hair selvage, and striped aubergine and black kelim end finish,
are certainly reminiscent of Baluch weaving.

An interesting design feature is the central figure which some will want to be a goddess figure.
With some imagination we can see a female figure with hands on wide child-bearing hips. The child still in the womb.

But it is probably only an upside-down flower. A design common in the field of Turkish prayer rugs.
